Matthew Laing, MScPT, BPHE
Registered Physiotherapist, Director
Matthew is a graduate of
the University of Toronto where he received both a Masters in Science in Physiotherapy in addition to a degree in Physical Education and Health. Matthew has been in private practice since 2009, where he has experience treating competitive athletes, dancers, weekend warriors, work place injuries, and clients who have been involved in motor vehicle accidents.
Matthew uses a combination of manual therapy techniques in addition to acupuncture and exercise prescription to provide an individualized program to help his clients reach their goals faster.
Matthew is currently pursuing his Advanced Diploma in Manual and Manipulative Therapy, as well as preparing to complete his Certificate of Anatomical Acupuncture.
In his spare time, Matthew is an avid athlete. He spends his time playing hockey, ultimate frisbee, and training for a fast 5k! He also enjoys spending time working out and creating new exercises for himself and his clients. Matthew also loves to attend live music events.
Raj Suppiah, MScPT, BHScHons
Registered Physiotherapist, Director
Raj is a graduate of McMaster University, where he received his Masters in Science in Physiotherapy. Raj has been in private practice since 2006, spending the past few years developing a solid client base within the downtown community. Raj has worked with athletes (both competitive and recreational), seniors and adolescents with a variety of musculoskeletal conditions. He believes strongly in preventative care and continued physical maintenance. He has had a lifelong passion of helping people achieve their goals. It is these beliefs and passion that led him to co-found Foundation Physiotherapy.
Internationally, Raj has worked in various developing countries as a volunteer physiotherapist. Locally, he works with sports organizations, providing consultation and on-field coverage.
Raj is skilled in personal training, manual therapy, acupuncture and orthotics and bracing. He is currently pursuing his certification in the McKenzie Method, a renowned therapeutic method worldwide, most effective in assessing and treating lower back pain. His interests are in fitness, running , music and spending time with his young family.
Raj was also recently appointed as a Professional Associate within the physiotherapy program at McMaster University. He tutors and examines physiotherapy students, as well as contributing to physiotherapy research. Working with students keeps Raj young at heart!
Kaitlin Turner, MScPT, BASc AHN
Registered Physiotherapist
Kaitlin is the newest member to the Foundation Physiotherapy team! She is a graduate of the University of Toronto, where she received her Masters of Science in Physiotherapy. She compliments her physiotherapy education with an undergraduate degree in Applied Human Nutrition from the University of Guelph.
Kaitlin has experience treating a variety of clients including recreational athletes, seniors and those involved in motor vehicle and workplace accidents.
Kaitlin recently completed her Level 1 Manual Therapy Certification and is pursuing her Contemporary Medical Acupuncture Certification. Kaitlin is a client-focused and goal-oriented physiotherapist. In her spare time, she coaches gymnastics and is eager to get her clients as flexible as her students!
Katie White, RMT
Registered Massage Therapist
Katie graduated from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy of Toronto in 2009, where she excelled at all of the skills necessary to become a successful registered massage therapist. She started her career in Waterloo, practicing at an award winning Medi-Spa, winning first place in the Reader’s Choice awards for best Massage Therapists within the Kitchener-Waterloo region, two years in a row.
Katie has experience treating a wide variety of clients with diverse needs and conditions, ranging from relaxation to deep tissue, prenatal to geriatric and sports related injuries.
Katie has always shown interest in the prevention, maintenance, and rehabilitation of injuries. She integrates fascial techniques, trigger point therapy, and stretching as her primary therapeutic modalities. In addition to being a Registered Massage Therapist, Katie also has her personal training certification and possesses a great knowledge base in fitness and nutrition, which she is always willing to pass on to her clientele.
Christine Duong
Office Manager
Christine has been
working in physiotherapy clinics for over ten years. In that time, she has gained valuable experience in client service and office administration. Her efficient and friendly manner enables her to assist clients with their administrative needs. She is dedicated to making sure the clients are comfortable and have a positive experience in the clinic. Christine’s positive attitude and commitment will help to ensure the smooth running and success of Foundation Physiotherapy.
Christine has a passion for traveling and learning new languages. Along with speaking French, Vietnamese and Cantonese fluently, she knows basic greetings in Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, and Greek. Ask her sometime!
Kimberley Brown
Administrator
Kim is the newest member of the Foundation Physiotherapy team. She brings with her experience in sales, retail and customer service. She graduated from UWO with her B.A. in Psychology. She continues to take courses at George Brown College in Graphic Design and computer software applications.
Along with an interest in computers, she also loves books, music, television and astronomy. She loves to travel and has been part of exchange trips to France, Japan and the UK. She is very excited to bring her experience and passion to our team and our clients.
