A small abnormality in foot function can have a large impact on joints higher up in the body, causing pain and discomfort. The arches of our feet are under constant strain, and are susceptible to imbalances and injuries. Custom orthotics are specifically designed insoles to correct your foot imbalance. By bringing your feet into proper alignment, they also affect the alignment in your knees, hips, pelvis and lower back. They reduce pain and discomfort, as well as rebalancing your feet during activity. Custom orthotics are made after a detailed assessment of your gait, running mechanics (if you are a runner) and foot position. A mould of your foot is taken and the orthotics are manufactured at a lab, specifically for your needs. Orthotics fit comfortably into your shoes, and can be designed for running shoes, dress shoes, loafers, flats and high heels. Orthotics are great tools for preventing injuries and optimizing your physical health. We recommend that every client be assessed for custom made orthotics.
