Raj is a graduate of McMaster University, where he received his Masters in Science in Physiotherapy. Raj has been in private practice since 2006, spending the past few years developing a solid client base within the downtown community. Raj has worked with athletes (both competitive and recreational), seniors and adolescents with a variety of musculoskeletal conditions. He believes strongly in preventative care and continued physical maintenance. He has had a lifelong passion of helping people achieve their goals. It is these beliefs and passion that led him to co-found Foundation Physiotherapy.
Internationally, Raj has worked in various developing countries as a volunteer physiotherapist. Locally, he works with sports organizations, providing consultation and on-field coverage. He is a certified Sport Physiotherapist, and was most recently selected as a lead medical practictioner for the Toronto 2015 Pan-Am Games.
Raj has a special interest in treating spine and sport conditions. He has his certificate in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT) from the McKenzie Institute, a renowned method worldwide for the assessment, treatment and management of neck and back pain. He has also received post-graduate training in vestibular rehabilitation (treatment of vertigo and dizziness), concussion rehabilitation and advanced manual therapy. His interests are in fitness, running, music and spending time with his young family.
Raj was also recently appointed as a Professional Associate within the physiotherapy program at McMaster University. He tutors and examines physiotherapy students, as well as contributing to physiotherapy research. Working with students keeps Raj young at heart!
